    Cycle

    There is cycling in all three stages of the event. From Kilmallock to the Ballyhoura mountain trails Ardpatrick before you take on the Ballyhouras by foot. From the trails to Patrickswell Lough Gur where you will run to the Lake to Kayak and run back to your bike. The final cycle is from Patrickswell Lough Gur to Kilmallock before your final run to the finish line. 35 miles of this event is covered on the bike.

    Kayak

    The Kayak is in the second stage of the race (700m) and takes part in one of the most historical archaeological sites in Ireland. Lough Gur- The home of HHAR.

  • Run

    Run

    There is running in all three stages of the event. Stage 1 is a tough run through the Ballyhoura mountain trail just over 6 miles. Stage 2 run from Patrickswell lough Gur to the lake and back- totalling 3 miles. Stage 3- The final run is just over .5 of a mile.

1. Bike to Hike

Section One: Distance 13 Miles.
7 mile Cycle from Kilmallock to the Ballyhoura Trail followed by a 6 mile run/climb.

2. Bike To Kayak

Section Two: Distance 21 Miles.
18 miles cycle from Ballyhoura mountain trails to kayak Lough Gur. Run and kayak 3 miles.

Section Three: Distance 10.5 Miles.
9.5 miles cycle from Lough Gur to Kilmallock and finish with a 1 mile run through the town to finish.

HHAR partners with The HOPE foundation

The Hope Foundation was set up in 1999 by cork native Maureen Forrest and works primarily with the street & slum children of Kolkata (Calcutta) and the subsequent difficulties that these children encounter. The HOPE foundation strive to attain ‘a world where it should never hurt to be a child‘. If you take a sponsorship card for HOPE as part of the race, the HHAR team want to offer you a discount of 5% on the entry to the race.
